Apple Nabs the Global Smartphone Crown, Samsung Makes Gains

IDC on Thursday confirmed that Apple is tightening its grip on the global smartphone market, having shipped 20.3 million iPhones during the last quarter for a 19.3 percent share.
The stats confirm recent numbers from Strategy Analytics, which also crowned Apple as the world’s top smartphone maker.
