Startup Modu Launches Modular Cell Phone

Israeli startup Modu is looking to revolutionize the mobile industry with a new modular phone. This phone allows you to dress it in various “jackets” or enclosures. This hallows customers of the cell phone to have a very intimate experience with the phone as they can customize it to their liking.

Modu users get to choose from many different jackets or phone enclosures, as well as Modu mates, or consumer electronics devices.

The Modu is slightly smaller than the current iPod Nano and weighs 1.5 ounces. It has a small color screen and a limited keypad, which allows it to work as a rudimentary cell phone on its own.

The phone can be dressed up or down as much as the consumer would like.

Modu mates can include digital photo frames, media players, cameras, and more.
